Since the end of the 19th century, leading Ukrainian and world biologists drew attention to these lands, and in 1993 they formed a full-fledged park. A little later, Biryuchy Island was added, which until 1994 was part of the “Askania-Nova” nature reserve.

The total area of ​​the park is 52,154 hectares, and it is home to 250 species of animals and 308 species of plants. Walking along it, you can see with your own eyes the dying yarrow and sage. If you are lucky, you will notice a rare golden eagle in the sky, and a majestic gray crane on the branches.
